Look at all the colors….don’t forget the shapes! This week was all about our colors and shapes. Each day this week, the children along with the staff participated in wearing different colors. On Monday, we wore white….and the children drew a picture using a white crayon on black construction paper. On Tuesday, we wore brown/beige and the children created a handprint brown bear. “On Wednesdays….we wear pink”(hope you get the reference!) and the children created a pink master piece using pink paint and bubble wrap. Thursday was gray day and the children created a collage of gray objects. We will end our week with our class color of yellow! We plan to make a rip art sun at the art table. Besides all of the fun colors we got to wear this week, the children worked on many different language skills such as writing and letter recognition. At the math table this week, the children worked on sorting, graphing and number recognition. We played a game throughout the week during group. I would ask the children to find me a shape that is around the classroom…we can’t forget our shapes and we know that shapes are all around us just like our colors. We had our fun walking rainbow experiment where you get a few cups, add water and food color and paper towels and make them overlap in the cups. This is a fun way for the children to use their observation skills to see how the water moves through the paper towels. We hope the children had fun this week…the teachers sure did! We will have more fun next week! As always, we hope you have an amazing and GO BROWNS!!
