This week’s theme was Dr. Seuss. In language development this week, we read various Dr. Seuss books, wrote on hats with markers, colored on paper with crayons, wrote on clipboard with pencils, and wrote on paper with red and blue markers. In cognitive development this week, we counted hats, matched socks, compared polaroid pictures to digital ones, and made our dry erase marker fish swim! In motor development this week, we walked on the balance beam, walked on footprints, placed pompoms into homemade “pockets,” and placed stickers on paper. In art this week, we glued red stripes on a white hat, made footprints with paint and our feet, marble painted, and glued fish onto a fishbowl. In social and emotional development this week, we practiced taking off and putting on our shoes, and took turns picking up fish cutouts. In social studies this week, we passed out fish cutouts and had the children do different tasks based on what color fish they had. This week, we also kicked off our Book Play-Off! The children had so much fun reading different books and choosing their favorite. Tomorrow, we will write upside down on a poster board for language development, count and stack cups for cognitive development, blow bubbles for motor development, and paint with sponges in art. We will also submit our votes for the first week of the Book Play-Off!
