It’s transportation week in the center and the children in our room have been loving every minute of it!  Any time they get the opportunity to push and pull toys with wheels, they become very excited.  There have been big and little trucks, boats and tractors out for them to paly with and explore and it has been very exciting for them, no matter their age.  The older children have painted with ice cubes on paper, ran matchbox cars through ink and then onto paper,  and colored on paper taped to the mirror so they could watch themselves while they did it.  They have been working on identifying body parts as well as matching their friends names to the child in the room.  Puzzles, large blocks, turning pages of a book, and pipe cleaners in colanders have all been helping their fine motor skills while playing outside on bikes and with balls have worked on large motor skills.  We also have been working hard on our clean-up routine.  The younger babies have been playing peek-a-boo with their teachers and scarves, tried their hand at pulling rings off of posts from the stacking ring toys, and listened to various transportation books while sitting one on one on their teachers laps.  It has been such a fun and exciting week for them and we can’t wait to see what next week will bring!
