Wow, it has been a week all about summer and the temperatures outside are definitely showing that is what it is! Our older children have been having fun dancing, coloring, stamping, painting and gluing. Their fine motor skills were practiced by pulling pieces of yarn from containers, dropping pom-poms into muffin tray cups, and then pulling those same pom-poms out of a whisk. Our youngest babies have been busy playing peek-a-boo with their teachers, listening to songs with movements, and lying next to each other on our big blanket and studying everybody’s faces. We have talked to them about the sun and the animals they are seeing out of our window – the babies have really been enjoying the show the squirrels and birds have been giving them! Rolling balls, listening to summer stories, working on language by babbling sounds and pushing cars around the room have been some of the highlights of the week. Tomorrow is our second day of swimming and that should be a fun time for them to splash and play with all of their friends. Next week, we will be learning all about farms and their occupants – should be a fun filled week of animal sounds, puppets, and toys all centering around these familiar animals!
Summer Fun!
