This week’s theme was farm. In language development this week, we read various books related to the theme, manipulated a farm felt board, colored on paper with crayons, practiced different animal sounds, manipulate foam animals, and wrote on magnetic writing boards. In cognitive development this week, we made faces in mirrors, manipulated vegetable counters, made rattles with rice and beans, and did animal farm puzzles. In motor development this week, we did lacing boards, manipulated nuts and bolts, “milked” cows by squeezing the fingers of a water filled glove, and laced beads. In art this week, we glued sticks on a barn, painted a pig with “mud”, stuck torn up paper onto contact paper, and glued cotton balls onto a paper plate. Tomorrow we will, write on dry erase boards in language development, count plastic eggs in cognitive development, manipulate play-doh in motor development, and paint with a fork in art.
