What a fun week of all things music. Monday in art the children painted with sponges and in language they practiced writing instrument words. In math the children engaged in a music instrument matching game. Tuesday in art the children explored symmetry art and in language they picked a letter from a basket and wrote it on a chalkboard. In math the children matched music noted by type, and again by color. The children also went on a walk around the block and they love to watch all the cars and trucks that drive by, Wednesday in art the children painted with scrapers and in language they listened to musical instrument sounds, and guessed the name of the instrument. In math the children sorted fruit loop colors on a graph. The children also explored sidewalk fizzy chalk painting! The children painted with sidewalk chalk paint that was made with baking soda and cornstarch, after painting they used a spray bottle to spray vinegar on and watched it bubble and fizz, they loved it!!Today was a swim day! We also let the children explore materials of their choice such as sorting cactus counters by color, and working with waffle block numbers, Tomorrow in art the children will paint with cups and in language they will engage in an alphabet bingo game. In math the children will play a musical instrument bingo game. The children will also make instruments out of recyclables tomorrow, for the classroom. In the sensory table this week the children worked with rice, funnels and bottles with scoops.
