All About Luau

We introduced the them with pictures, print, stories, video of hula dancers and the limbo. We practiced doing the hula all week to get ready for Hula in the Coola.

Art

Monday- Pineapple- glued tissue paper on brown paper with stem

Tuesday- Sea Turtle- glued green paper squares to a bowl

Wednesday- Magic show

Thursday- Palm Tree- glued tree trunk, stem and stamped with round sponge to make coconuts with brown paint.

Friday- Hula in the Coola- Limbo and Hula in the great room

Math

# number coconut balls to practice counting and placing in cups, shower rings and cones for counting one-to-one, number fish with rods to name numbers recognized and tropical fish with bowls , tongs and water

Motor Development

Flower lacing with pipe cleaners for sturdy grip, colorful straws with colanders to poke through and manipulate, foam blocks with flamingo and palm  tree picks to push/press and pull.

Sensory Table

Luau cups, oatmeal/coconut, cones and plastic flowers
