It our Luau theme and fun to explore all things summery and warm! Monday in art the children created palm trees with their hand prints and in math the children engaged in an Aloha bingo game. Tuesday in art the children practiced cutting along lines to make a grass skirt and in language the children matched lower case letters. In math the children looked at different island items on cards, the children needed to count the number of items on the card and attach a clip to the corresponding number on the bottom of the card. Wednesday in language the children dictated what they would do in Hawaii the children put together a puzzle in order by number. Today in art the children made volcanoes and in language they practiced writing Hawaiian words. In math the children used the fine motor skills to string number flowers in order by number, going 1-10. Tomorrow is our luau day!! There will be hula dancing, the limbo and lots of fun! In art the children will be making paper plate turtles and in math the children will hunt for lettered flowers. In the sensory table this week the children explored water with tropical fish and flowers and cups.
