Our spring theme has been full of new and interesting activities, though the weather outside hasn’t matched our theme inside!  Our toddlers have been hard at work on new and emerging skills and have shown us the new things they have learned every day.  Fine motor skills have been worked on by dropping popsicle sticks in containers and then retrieving them, they have helped take story pieces off our story felt board, fingerpainting and chalking have been the art highlights of the week, and dropping plastic eggs into a tube was a huge hit.  Many are learning to get up and down holding onto furniture and our younger ones have been hard at work learning to sit by themselves.  All have watched and heard stories about the upcoming weather and all the new animals and colorful flowers that we should be seeing soon.  Our youngest babies have had the chance to interact with sensory balls that light up and are working on reaching toward them to explore them in their own little way.  Peek-a-boo is still the reigning game as it will calm the fussiest child and all think it is so much fun, so much so that our oldest children are now initiating it with the younger babies  Various musical instruments have been brought out so they can hear the different sounds each of them make and puppets have once again told some fascinating stories.  This week has seen lots of different colors and new activities to try and we can’t wait to see what next week brings!
