The week of friends is coming to an end but what an appropriate theme for our toddlers that are transitioning and meeting all the new friends that will be in their new room, how fun!  Our babies have been busy hearing about friendships while listening to books and songs, and playing with the plastic friend people we have out for them to explore.  They have had a chance to explore paint in baggies, and have shaken sensory bottles to listen to all the different sounds they can make.  There has been block stacking, nesting cup play, exploring ribbons in many different ways, and pop up boxes to help with problem solving and fine motor skills.  We have hidden toys under cloth to help them with figuring out that just because they can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there, most think is a funny game.  They have been practicing how to turn the pages of a book, how to clap their hands, and how to hold and drink from a cup.  Some are starting to clap two toys together and all think that is a fun game to play over and over.  Our older children are pointing out body parts and friends as we name them in song.  Many are mastering turning when they hear their name called so that has been fun to watch as they get so excited that we have acknowledged them.  There has been outside play and indoor discovery this week all while interacting with their friends, what a fun theme it has been.  Next week, we sadly have to say goodbye to our toddlers while welcoming two new babies into our room.  We will be celebrating back to school with the center next week while giving our babies a touch of the A,B,C’s and 1,2,3’s!  Look forward to some more fun adventures ahead!
