🐰🥚 This Week in Our Classroom: Easter! 🥚🐰
This week’s theme was Easter, and the children had so much fun exploring eggs, bunnies, chicks, and spring through hands-on learning and play!
🗣 Language Development
We explored Easter vocabulary using picture cards like egg, bunny, chick, basket, grass, and flowers 🌸. The children enjoyed our Easter object basket, naming and exploring different items, and matched photos of bunnies and chicks. We also opened plastic eggs to discover and identify pictures inside and practiced writing on chalkboards.
🔢 Math Development
In math, we sorted colorful plastic eggs 🥚 by color, counted eggs while “feeding the bunny,” and matched eggs to chick dot mats—building early counting and matching skills.
🧪 Science
Our little scientists explored egg sound shakers, listening to different sounds made by materials inside, and used magnifying glasses to closely examine eggs and small flowers 🌼—encouraging observation and curiosity.
🏃 Motor Development
We stayed active with a jelly bean walk, stepping along colorful shapes, practiced fine motor skills by threading beads onto pipe cleaners, and worked on balance by carrying eggs on spoons 🥄. We also matched Velcro eggs and hopped around like bunnies 🐇!
😊 Social & Emotional Development
We practiced taking turns by dropping eggs into a basket and played a fun “Who’s in the Egg?” game using photos of our classmates—helping build friendships and recognition skills.
🌎 Social Studies
We began talking about family Easter traditions, sharing simple ideas about how families celebrate together. Tomorrow, we will continue these conversations and learn from each other.
🎨 Art
Our art projects were full of creativity and spring colors! We finger-painted Easter eggs 🎨, made cotton ball bunnies, created carrots with orange squares, designed feather chick collages, and painted tape-resist eggs.
