It’s back to school throughout the center and our room is welcoming some new babies as well. It is always exciting when we get to watch our toddlers move onto new adventures and new, younger babies join our infant room family. Our older children have been active and busy this week as they crawled through a tunnel, dropped rings into plastic containers, played hide and seek with scarves, rolled balls, stacked blocks, and practiced brushing teeth. Books have been read about the ABC’s, and puppets and the flannel board have been out to tell some new and exciting stories. As our youngest babies were adapting to our room, we made sure to include them in some fun one on one time activities like peek-a-boo and bubbles. They laid under a toy arch to watch the toys sway back and forth, listened to songs with us sitting on our laps, watched puppets with the older children, and watched their reflections in the mirror as they were lying next to it. They listened to fun sounds like wind chimes and bells that were rung next to them and they were gently rocked to sleep. We watched several of our older children move onto a new room but we welcomed new babies whom we are excited to get to know and to give them so many new experiences and interactions. Next week we will have a theme of All About Me where they get to center activities on themselves and their environment – stay tuned for updates!
