Fall has Arrived!

It is sweater weather and hoodie season! The children have been engaging in many activities related to fall. In math the children played a squirrel in the orchard board game, played a fall bingo game, explored pumpkin counters and apples on grids, and have been interested in doing other things with the counters such as stacking them, patterning them, and sorting them, so much math! In language the children have been working with lots of letters! They have been doing letter matching activities, stringing letters, writing practice with their names and other letters too. In art the children  wanted to explore more finger pint so we did that, they dot painted pumpkins and will tear fall colors and flue to a tree. The children have also been using the stencils in the art area, which is a great fine motor experience. In the sensory table the children have been working with water, strainers, bowls and harvest vegetable counters. The drama was changed to a fall theme today with apples, baskets, and a fun table cloth. The children have also been reading many books about the changes we see in the fall, apple picking and planting pumpkin seeds! Fall is so fun!
