This week’s theme has taken us around the world while we experience different cultures from around the globe. They have listened to different types and sounds of music, tasted different foods, and listened to books that show different children and what their customs are where they live. Fine motor have included dropping clothespins into juice bottles, stacking cups, one-piece puzzles, and our lacing toys. The younger babies have been practicing how to reach for toys that are above them and in front of them. The sign language cube was brought out to roll and learn some new words and sign language was used in song when a special person from Gigi’s Playhouse came and taught us a fun hello song. We have played peek-a-boo with scarves, shook maracas, practiced making marks on paper with a crayon, stacked rings on a post, and built with blocks. There have been multicultural dolls out all week for us to talk about and puppets to tell stories with that they were then able to explore independently. Ball have been tossed and rolled while bean bags have been dropped into and taken out of baskets. It has been a whirlwind of fun and excitement as we “traveled” around the world and they all had many new experiences. Next week we get spooky with our Halloween theme!
