For the safety of our children and families, we are not offering in-person tours of our center at this time. However, we’re bringing a look inside our five-star child care center to you.
From infant to pre-Kindergarten classes, Lakewood Child Care Center—located in downtown Lakewood, Ohio—offers a range of classrooms as well as indoor and outdoor play spaces and a full kitchen to ensure your children have the educational and social experience they need to thrive.
Each child has their own cubby in which they keep their belongings. We firmly believe books are one of the most critical parts of an education, so we give our children ample opportunity to explore the literary world. Our Great Room is a meeting place for playing, working together with friends, and even attending family events on weekends. Our youngest children—starting as young as six weeks—find a second home in our infant room, with designated nap and play areas, and plenty of new things to learn and explore. Our infants love seeing what’s going on in their environment—both inside and out. Each infant has their own crib in an area separate from the main classroom to promote nap schedules and quiet time. This designated area gives our infants a soft, safe space to play at various points in their development. After they advance from the infant room, young toddlers find independence in our newest classroom, opened in fall 2019. Your young toddler will switch from a crib to a cot as just one of their many areas of development in this classroom. From science to play, young toddlers experience entirely new opportunities in this room. The older toddler room is bright and airy and allows children to explore math, science, drama, language, art and, of course, have plenty of time to play. In this classroom, our older toddlers learn independence—and much more (including potty training, thanks to this room’s two bathrooms). Older toddlers have emotions—and this quiet corner gives them space to have time alone in a safe, comfortable, cozy environment. From puzzles to trains to dolls and more, the older toddler classroom gives children and opportunity to expand and explore their interests. In preschool, our 3- and 4-year-olds explore various subjects, from science and math to language and drama. Language, art and writing are important skills your children will learn in preschool. Our children love when we read to them—making dedicated spaces with fun, interesting and diverse books a must. Our large pre-K classroom gives your growing child space to safely explore. Here, your child will prepare for kindergarten—everything from writing to math to, most importantly, teamwork and cooperation. Learning is important, but playing is too. We make sure our children get a balance of both—and usually at the same time. This recently remodeled classroom will give 5- and 6-year-olds the chance to grow before heading to kindergarten. Lakewood Child Care Center’s Pre-K2 room gives kids the chance to grow and develop more before entering kindergarten. Our second-year pre-K students (plus school-age students here in summer and on breaks) learn and grow in our pre-K2 room. Our children love testing their skills and exploring new physical capabilities in our age-appropriate outdoor play areas. Students of all ages can find their fit in our outdoor play area, which offers two age-appropriate climbers. Getting outdoors is critical to our children’s health and well-being. We offer two outdoor play areas—including this patio.
