This week was all about artists from our past, but we became our own wonderful artists as we painted, colored with crayons and even sculpted with clay. We started on Monday with painting like Michelangelo on the ceiling of the “church” as we liked to call it. We continued each day with a new medium and had fun enjoying the process. For some math activities, we used paint chip samples to play a match game and tanagram shapes to make all new shapes. For some language activities, we used paintbrushes to “paint” letters in a tray of sugar and used alphabet letters to make imprints in playdoh. We included some new fine motor as we had a large sheet of paper and used gems to trace lines of nature including trees, rivers, grass, clouds and rainbows. We actually got outside as well! What a great feeling to get that fresh air! Hooray! We hope it lasts! The highlight of the week was going to see the play Rainbow Fish at Playhouse Square. The boys and girls sat in wonder at the performance and were so good for the outing. We will end our fun week with a music with Miss Mel class and doing some splatter painting like Jackson Pollack!
