This week we learned all about the five senses. On Monday, we learned about our sense of sight. We colored on paper with crayons on paper for language development. We hid balls underneath cups and tried to find them for cognitive development. we used magnifying glasses to look at small counters for motor development. And in art, we painted with sunglasses on. On Tuesday, we learned about the sense of smell. In language development, we colored with scented markers. In cognitive development, we counted and sorted vegetable counters. In motor development, we manipulated scented play-doh. In art, we painted with Kool-Aid. In social and emotional development, we played hide and seek in the classroom. On Wednesday, we learned about the sense of taste. In language development, we put felt board story pieces on our board. In cognitive development, we did a sweet, salty, and sour taste experiment. In motor development, we strung cheerios onto pipe cleaners. In art, we glued goldfish, cereal, pasta, and crackers onto paper. Today, we learned about the sense of touch. In language development, we built with letter blocks. In cognitive development, we sorted animal stencils. In motor development, we manipulated wood tiles. In art, we made a texture collage. In social and emotional development, we felt items inside a box. Tomorrow we will learn about the sense of hearing. In language development, we will play Simon Says and write on clipboards with pencils. In cognitive development, we will shake items in a box and try to guess the item. In motor development we will hop on different colors and play with water and scoops. In art we will do marble painting. We also read various books this week pertaining to our senses and our book playoff! We’ve chosen our favorites for the week and will cast our vote tomorrow!
