We introduce the theme with pictures and print, talked about who has pets at home and what kind. The children shared their pets names, guessed animal sounds and learned why a cat has whiskers.

Monday- Dog glued various materials to brown paper
Tuesday- Cat glues materials to pink/purple/gray paper
Wednesday-Fish- Bubble wrap stamping on white paper w/ orange/yellow paint
Thursday- Bird- Glued various materials to paper to resemble a bird
Friday- Bunny- Glue floppy ears, whiskers, eyes, nose
Math
We practice math activities through matching color bones to bowls, color grid /shape button matching, number fishing with poles to name numbers, dog bone number matching to dog number grid with same number and counting carrots with grid boards. Name and review parts of a fish
Motor Development
Real dog biscuits with dog bowls and tongs for manipulating, lacing real dog raw hides with pipe cleaners to practice eye-hand coordination, Net fishing with fish counters and nets to trap, catch and slide, foam ball and feathers to practice poking into balls to strengthen finger/hand grip, color matching bunny tails with clothes pins to practice open and close motions.
