Happy Father’s Day!  I hope you enjoy your day!  This week’s theme is Father’s where we talked about our dads and why our dads are the best.  We talked about what our dads did for work and why we love our dads.  Sone of the children talked about different things that their dads do for them.   The children made different special gifts for their dads.  They cannot wait until their dads open their gifts!

Goldfish Swim School came and spoke with the children about how to be safe while swimming.  Some of the children said that they go to Goldfish to learn how to swim and some said they they would like to learn how to swim at Goldfish  They were so excited to see Bubbles!  Goldfish Swim School gave each of the children their own bag with goodies inside.

We got to know each other by playing different games such as Find Someone Who, My Name Is, If you Really Know Me, and Name Touch.  They played Basketball, Memory Game, Sliders, and Connect 4.  They got to learn more things about each other and they learned how to play together by taking turns and helping each other.  They read books, talked about what we read, and what would we change about the book that we read.

We did a Mud experiment where the children added water and Alka-Seltzer tablets to dirt that was in a small cup.  They shook the cups a little and placed it upside down.  They were shocked when the cups started popping!  The purpose of this experiment is for the children to pretend to be scientists and figure out how much water and dirt they need to get the cups to pop.  It was a fun and messy experiment..

We had our first field trip to Nosotros Rock Climbing and then we went to Lakewood Park for lunch and to play.  Some of the children were nervous about rock climbing and asked if they can watch others but they got right in and started climbing!  All of the children seemed to have fun because they were climbing, laughing, and having the time of their life.  We finished off the week by going to Clague Park where they played and had lunch.  We did some Art, played games, and one of the children asked me how to make mud.  We  put some dirt in a cup, poured water, and mixed it up with a spoon.  The children then put some rocks and grass inside the cup and then we mixed it up.  It was fun and spontaneous experiment!  We planted our own Sunflower seeds where the children got to choose how much soil wanted for the sunflower seeds and then they put water inside the cup so that the sunflower seeds can grow.
