Happy HOT Summer! This week definitely felt like summer with these crazy temperatures! We began our week by discussing the characteristics about summer. The children came up with a big list such as: it is hot, you can go swimming, you don’t need a coat, the plants are in bloom and that you can wear just shorts and a t-shirt just to name a few. This week the children worked on letter recognition, beginning sounds and writing summer words at the language table. At math this week, we worked on number recognition and placing objects in the correct order 1-20. At the science table, the children used their eyes to observe the walking rainbow experiment. We will see how this turns out on Friday when we take the paper towels out of the cups with colored water. We kicked off our field trips by going to Edgewater Park on Tuesday and celebrating Miss Tara’s birthday! Even though the trip got cut short due to the rain, we still had fun! On Wednesday, we had our first swim day and we rocked out to some music as we enjoyed the rays and waves. Our friend Coach Charlotte came to teach us about one of our favorite sports….FOOTBALL!! (Here we go Brownies….here we go!). To end the week of field trips, we headed to Huntington Park to work in our gross motor skills for the day. We hope that the children had fun during this summer week and we will continue the summer fun next week. We hope everyone has a fun and fabulous weekend!
