What a week of building and destroying so many things! We became builders and breakers (that was one of our favorite books this week as it described how construction workers can be both!). We built and knocked down to rebuild again all week. We built with so many different materials including Legos, Lincoln Logs, blocks, rocks, sticks, and so many more things! For language, we played a new construction BINGO game and used popsicle sticks to “build” our names. We experimented with gears and built a system at science. We learned that if we connect them, we only need to move one to make all of them move! We also had some (plastic) screws frozen in ice and used our tools to get them out. Some of our math was to use small rocks in a ten frame and we also played a path game to get to the construction site at the end. Our field trips this week were to Botanical Garden and the zoo! We had beautiful weather for both days out! The boys and girls had a great time in the pool on Wednesday! It was a sticky day out and the pool water was just what we needed to cool us off! On the playground, we have been keeping busy with all of the digging tools and buckets, bug jars and more! One of the favorite past times out there is to dig up dirt, look for bugs and then watch them in the environment. We are having a great summer and have so many more days to go!
