This week we went to Tri-City Park, Cleveland Natural History Museum, and Edgewater Park. The playground at Tri-City Park was under construction but that didn’t stop us from having fun! We played Soccer, Football, Golf Birdie, etc. Some of the children saw the pine cones on the ground and they wanted to place them around the tree for the animals so that they can start to get ready for winter. Another child said that the reason why the pine cones are around the tree is to protect the tree. Unfortunately, we had to leave early because it started to rain heavily and we heard thunder! We went to Cleveland Natural History Museum and the museum is beautiful because they did renovations! We saw a huge dinosaur and the children speculated as to what the dinosaur was but we do know that it’s name is Happy. We got to see a short movie called, Wings Over Water and it was in 3D. We went outside to see the animals that live in Ohio. The animals that the children liked the most were the coyotes and otters. We finished off the wee at Edgewater Park where the children had so much fun playing on the playground, sliding down the hill, and we went for a walk. It was such a fun day for the children.
We painted mandala suncatchers to give to the seniors because we wanted to do something nice for them. Some of the children drew pictures and made cards as well. Ms. Joanne came to do art with the children. They made people on a stick. We had Lakewood Police officers come and visit the children. They were so excited to see our wonderful officers! The children did watercolor painting while listening to Classical music and painted with paints while listening to Jazz music. We listened to different types of music this week and discussed the differences between them. We also talked about what we like and didn’t like about the music.
We are getting close to the end of Summer camp. If your child won’t be here for the very last week, please make sure their cubbies are cleaned out. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me!.
