We had a great week of all things FALL! We did so much with pumpkins and apples. We also turned our drama area into an apple orchard (okay, no trees, but plenty of apples!). We took a virtual trip to an apple orchard and learned how to safely pick an apple if any of the families decided to go, your child will know what to do! For art, we made paper apples, fall trees. and brown bag pumpkins. We counted out lots of apples for math and matched up uppercase letters with lowercase letters on pumpkins and leaves. On Tuesday, we had a great apple taste testing and learned that most of the boys and girls like all the apples the best! At the science table, we explored leaves, acorns and some small nature. The sensory bin has been filled with leaves, sticks, acorns, apples and oatmeal…so many different textures to explore! Outside, we did not find too many leaves on the ground yet. We did look for changes in color on some of the leaves and found some red on the leaves on the bushes on the playground. We will be talking about this for the next several weeks and watching the changes around us.
