It’s Halloween week and what a week we have had! The culmination of this fun week is when we dress them all up and show them and their costumes off when we go “trick or treating” upstairs. They certainly don’t understand most of it but it is always so fun to see the looks on everyone’s faces when they see our babies arrive. Many of our activities have included black and orange or have signified Halloween in some way without being spooky at all! They have had the opportunity to try on a witch’s hat and look at themselves in the mirror and to find hidden plastic pumpkins around the room. We gave them little felt pumpkin bags to carry around and our older ones used this opportunity to find just what would fit inside. Tissue paper stuck to contact paper, coloring with chalk on chalkboards, shape sorters and baggies with hair gel and eyeballs have been many of the fine motor activities that they have had to participate in this week. We are working on block building, walking, using our spoon, sitting and pulling to standing all while using Halloween items to help facilitate much of it. They danced to the song Monster Mash and are learning to use safe hands while giving hugs to our baby dolls. It has been a lot of fun this week celebrating this holiday and now we are ready to see what next week brings as we usher in November.
