This week the children have been learning more about families and how every family is unique in it’s own way. Monday in art the children painted with people shape sponges and in language the children matched letters to their name card. In math the children matched the baby animal picture to the mommy animal picture. Tuesday in art the children stamped with feeling face stampers and in language the children looked at pictures of families doing things and talked about what they saw happening. In math the children counted the number of people in a family photo and clipped a clothespin to the corresponding number on the photo. Wednesday in art the children painted fall colors onto foil and in language the children dictated all about their family, In math the children created a family photo by rolling a die and adding the matching number of people to the photo frame. Today in art the children did some scissor practice cutting shapes. And in language the children matched letters onto a neighborhood map. In math the children worked with creating family photos again. Tomorrow in art the children will explore bingo dabber art and in language they will practice writing family words: mother, father, sister, brother etc. In math the children will engage in family photo patterning by looking at a photo and recreating it using people cutouts. This week in the sensory table the children worked with water, fruit counters, bottles and strainers.
