Wow, as we wrap up our winter theme, mother nature is making sure we know exactly what winter means, it is cold!  The babies have been busy exploring white items to match the snow outside and have been playing with penguins while we talk about where they live.  There have been many books about this season including ones with animals and what to wear outside.  They have practiced fine motor skills by dropping cotton balls into juice bottles, building with blocks, scribbling with chalk, and building snowmen on our flannel board.  We have tried our hand at rolling balls back and forth with others, building with nesting cups, and fitting cardboard tubes in and out of muffin tin cups.  They all have been working on new signs or new sounds to try out with us and all are very proud of their accomplishments.  Art activities have included stamping and finger painting, all with the color white.  They have listened to songs about snow and cold and they have had the opportunity to try on winter gear that we have had out for them to explore.  Some are learning to clap and wave and show it off any time they can.  It has been a fun, cold week and now we move into the holiday’s that are celebrated at the end of month.
