Math
The children used and explored various activities related to early math learning, and introduced to new language, cooking experiences and new materials to enhance and build math learning through materials. Number cups and number wooden pieces for counting and number recognition, watermelon seed counting with raisins- one-to one correspondence, magnet wands/shoe horse magnets and rings to make connections and see how things work, counting coins with tray sorters .
Motor development
The children worked with various materials to work on and build their fine motor skills as they discover how things work and how to make them work. Flip the cookies with small spatulas, counter fruit toss with tongs, oatmeal play-doh with pizza cutters, potato heads and jumping over the rope.
