5 Senses
We introduced the theme with a picture of each of the 5 senses, math, motor development, art and language related for the week.
Monday-Touch glued various textured materials onto paper
Tuesday- Smell made flowers and sprayed w/ perfume to smell
Wednesday- Hear made tambourine and filled with beans/noodles
Thursday- Sight painted on easel wearing sunglasses
Friday- Taste glued various things we tasted onto paper
Math
The children practiced their fine motor skills by using animal chip clips to practice squeezing with fingers, flower picks with foam blocks to press and pull, shape pound benches to hammer to hear the sound it makes, number colored eggs to practice number recognition, number nesting blocks to make patterns by size or color and colored donut rings to arrange by size and color.
Motor Development
Shape colored magnet tiles to build structures, strawberry scented play-doh to manipulate with small shape cutters, colored magnifying glasses with small and large animal counters and stringing with apple jacks to practice lacing. Outside- jumping over the chalk line
Sensory Table
Various textured materials- noodles, coins, confetti, marshmallows, scoops and pails
