This week’s theme was pets. In language development this week, we read various books, went over different pictures and words on our vocab board, played I Spy with pictures and objects around the room, tossed bean bags onto pictures and named the pictures, and practiced our oral skills by blowing feathers. In math this week, we manipulated animal puzzles, counted and sorted fish, matched colored pipe cleaners to cat cutouts, and sorted different pets. In motor development this week, we jumped on lines taped on the floor, manipulated animal connectors, had a ball race, and placed stickers on a poster board. In social and emotional development this week, we read a book about safe and gentle hands. In art this week, we painted a dog bone cutout, glued fish scales onto a fish cutout, glued yarn on paper, and painted with feathers. Tomorrow, we will color on paper with crayons in language development, matched different animals to their home in math, have a dance party in motor development, graph everyone’s pet in social studies, and make a paper bowl turtle in art.
