With Mothers Day this past Sunday, we had many discussions about our mom’s and grandma’s. Monday in art the children painted with bubble wrap and in language the children did a Mother’s Day interview where they answered questions about their mom’s and grandma’s! In math the children graphed animal counters by color and then by type. Tuesday in art the children explored painting with watercolors and in language they traced letters with buttons. In math the children filled a heart with pom poms by rolling a die to see how many to add to the heart each turn. Wednesday in art the children made hand print flowers and in math the children matched the baby farm animal to the mommy. We did our language as a whole group and when given a letter, the children were to think of words that have that letter’s sound. Today in art the children drew pictures of their mom’s and/or grandma’s and in language they matched rhyming stones together. In math the children worked with people counters and 1 to 1 correspondence grids. Tomorrow in art the children will make some dot art using pencil erasers and in language they will match lower case letters together. In math the children will engage in a mother’s day bingo activity. In the the sensory table this week the children worked with colored gems, cups and bowls and in the block area the children worked with letter builders.
