Summer camp is finally here! We are so excited because we are going to have a great summer! We went over the rules for summer camp and we told the children that the rules that we have here at the enter apply to field trips. We talked about how we are representing LCCC and that we should be respectful towards others. We let them know that if we are disrespectful towards others while visiting different sites, they may not want us to come back next year.
The children will have LCCC maroon shirts that they will change into on field trip days and the shirts will need to stay here to get washed. Please make sure they are wearing socks and tennis shoes as we do a ton of walking and they are wearing 2 piece outfits. We know some girls like to wear one piece jumpers and it’s not ideal because they are unable to change into the LCCC shirts. It tends to get hot and we don’t want the children to be uncomfortable wearing 2 layers of clothing. Please feel free to put extra clothing in your child’s cubby
Ms. Joanne did art with the children. We split the children into 2 groups so that everyone gets the chance to do art. Goldfish Swim School did a presentation on Swim Safety with the children. I think this is important for children if they do any type of swimming but we do not do any type of swimming with the Summer School Age children so please do not worry about that. We do not allow them to go near water.
We kept most of the field trip sites the same but added 2 new places: Madison Park and Rocky River Park. Some of the playground that we have visited in the past have gone under renovation and they are beautiful! We know the children will enjoy them! Speaking of field trips, we will be going to Cleveland Zoo, Lakewood Park, and Nosotros Rock Climbing (we always go with PreK). We will go to Madison Park after rock climbing.
