This week, we kicked off Summer with fun, sunshine, and tons of playful learning! From water games to fruity colors, our classroom was bursting with seasonal excitement.
📚 Language Development:
We read a variety of summer-themed books, used bingo daubers on the letter “S,” and played “I Spy Summer” to name all kinds of warm-weather items. We also practiced writing and drawing—on poster boards with markers and even on contact paper for a fun sensory twist!
🔢 Math Moments:
In math, we matched fruits by color (🍌🍓🍇), identified dots on dominoes, and used shape sorters to boost our recognition and fine motor skills.
🔬 Science Exploration:
We kept it cool with ice paint! The children loved watching how the colors melted and mixed as they painted with frozen blocks—perfect for a hot week!
🏃 Motor Development:
We stayed active with an obstacle course, played tag with friends, and stacked pool noodle pieces. We also practiced precision by fitting pipe cleaners into cups—building those fine motor muscles while having fun!
💛 Social & Emotional Development:
This week we focused on teamwork and safety. We took turns blowing bubbles on the patio (a crowd favorite!) and reviewed important pool safety rules to get ready for all the summer fun ahead.
🎨 Arts & Creativity:
Art was bright and messy in the best way! We worked together to paint a giant poster board mural, painted our names, used our homemade ice paint, and had fun chalk painting.
🔮 Coming Up Tomorrow…
To finish out the week, we’ve got even more summer fun planned:
- Language: Coloring with crayons on paper
- Math: Playing a memory game
- Motor: Water balloon relay race! 💦
- Social Studies: Bringing carpet squares to circle time to talk about personal space and shared routines
- Art: Spray bottle painting for a cool and colorful finish 🎨
