🤝 This Week in Our Classroom: Friends! 🤝
Our theme this week was friends, and we spent our days learning all about what it means to be a friend, how to play together, and how to share fun experiences!
🗣 Language Development
We read fun books all about friendship, identified pictures of friends in our classroom, and practiced naming objects as we pulled them out of a mystery box. The children also expressed themselves by coloring with crayons and writing on magnetic boards.
🔢 Math
We matched pictures of Sesame Street friends and counted pictures of our very own classroom friends, building early number sense while celebrating the people we see every day.
🧪 Science
Exploration was hands-on and messy this week! We used magnifying glasses to look closely at leaves and dove into the squishy, gooey fun of oobleck.
🏃 Motor Development
We worked on both fine and gross motor skills by tossing balls with partners, threading on boards, and uncovering hidden pictures in shaving cream bags. Plus, we got moving together with a classic game of Ring Around the Rosie!
😊 Social & Emotional Development
Friendship is about feelings too! We rolled a die to act out different emotions and played Follow the Leader, practicing how to take turns leading and following.
🎨 Art
Our art projects this week were all about teamwork and creativity. We made a colorful friendship chain, glued face parts onto paper plates, painted side by side with a friend on poster board, and added some sparkle with glitter paint!
📅 Reminder
Tomorrow the center will be closed. We hope you enjoy the long weekend with your families! 💛
