Nursery rhyme week has been a lot of fun, especially if you are a baby or just turned one! Our children have listened to books and watched flannel stories all about stories that rhyme and repeat, great ways to hold their attention, just like music does. They have watched various puppets sing familiar songs and clapped along with them. They have practiced building with blocks that are almost the size of them and are attempting to fit puzzle pieces into the correct spots. The busy boxes have been out to explore and all the babies enjoy watching the animals pop up with the simple push of a button. They are using fine motor skills to pull pieces of tape off of a surface and to stick items to contact paper. They have fingerpainted, glued and stamped. The weather has been a little cooler so playing outside has been a little more enjoyable but still so much fun to go out and explore and move. Developmental skills are continuing to be perfected with crawling, pulling up and getting back down again, rolling over, and walking all taking place throughout the day. This week has been all about fun and all have enjoyed listening to and watching this weeks silliness as it as played out in song and words. Can’t wait until next week and what more we will do!
