This week’s theme was All Around the World 🌍, and our classroom was filled with exploration, creativity, and discovery as we learned about different cultures and places!
🗣 Language Development
We read a variety of books, wrote on dry erase boards with markers, played with wooden letter blocks, matched objects to pictures, and went on a picture scavenger hunt around the classroom-building vocabulary and observation skills.
🧠 Cognitive Development
The children manipulated cupcake shapes, explored shiny sensory mystery balls, connected trains, and experimented with magnetic rods and balls, encouraging curiosity and problem-solving.
🏃 Motor Development
We practiced kicking a ball, played with discovery people and house stackers, hopped on different world maps, and built with bristle blocks, strengthening both fine and gross motor skills through active play.
😊 Social & Emotional Development
This week, we sang and moved together during Ring Around the Rosie and made expressive faces while rolling emotion dice, helping the children recognize and share their feelings.
🎨 Art
Our art activities took us on a colorful journey around the world! We created “henna tattoos” by drawing on hand outlines with markers, glued colored squares to make paper mosaics, painted the Earth using green paint and blue circle paper, and used animal sponges to paint creatures from different parts of the world.
✨ Looking Ahead to Tomorrow:
To wrap up our week, we’ll:
- Language: Write on chalkboards with chalk
- Cognitive: Match dragons to houses
- Motor: Play ring toss
- Social Studies: Discuss family culture
- Art: Listen to cultural music while painting
It’s been a week full of learning, creativity, and cultural exploration! 🌎💛
