Halloween theme week and ending the week with the fun and festivities that this holiday brings with it.  It is always fun to see the children dress up and be someone or something different for a little while – their smiles and laughter are always worth it.  While our babies don’t understand the significance of any of it (they just look super cute!), this week has introduced different aspects of it that they have been able to participate in and have so much fun.  The older children have had the opportunity to explore the inside of a pumpkin through a baggie they they can see and feel.  All the children have listened to songs like “Five Little Pumpkins” and books that have shown kids dressed up as witches and ghosts.  We put paint and paper inside of a bin with different sized and textured balls and had them shake it to make some interesting art work.  They crawled through a tunnel, dropped rings inside of a container, and made marks on a piece of paper with crayons.  Peek-a-boo, bubbles, and This Little Piggy have been big hits for our smallest babies while practicing being on their bellies and interacting with the older children.  We have danced to some pretty fun music and participated in interactive, familiar songs that they all get very excited about when they hear them.  We will end the week showing off our costumes and collecting candy and goodies all while we have fun in the classroom participating in not so scary activities  that the fun holiday brings with it.
