It’s Valentine’s week, so the colors red and pink and the theme of love and kindness have permeated in the classroom during this special holiday. Our older children have painted, built with nesting cups, and affixed tissue paper to a heart shaped contact paper cutout. They have used Valentine’s stickers and stamps. They explored containers and the matching lids and tossed bean bags into baskets. Many are practicing their block building skills and competing one piece puzzles on their own. Ribbons have been waved and shakers have been shook, all while listening to some fun music. They peered through colored lens magnifying glasses and listened to their names in songs. Our youngest babies are watching faces and holding eye contact with the teachers as they are talked to one on one. Puppets have told some fun stories and sang some silly songs, while books have been listened to all about love. Fine motor skills included pulling yarn out of containers and dropping heart shapes into the top of coffee cans. All of this while practicing emerging developmental skills and they have had so much fun! Next week, we start anew and can’t wait to see what new adventures await.
