A great fun summer theme to learn about what lives under the sea! In art this week the children glued cheerios to a starfish, painted a seahorse and roller painting. In math the children  counted sea animals and practiced writing the number to go with the amount. The children engaged in an under the sea bingo game, they looked at animals to talk about the similarities and differences, matched seashells by number and tomorrow they will work on adding and counting by adding sea animals to a sea. In language the children matched lettered fish to the fish on the paper, practiced writing letters and will explore letter sound matching tomorrow. In the sensory table the children worked with water and sea animals and in blocks the children continue to be creative working with the solo cups, blocks and Lincoln logs. The drama area is also quite busy with our friend’s taking care of babies and making food for each other. Our star of the week was Miles, and the children get excited to see what he will share with them each day.  Charlotte’s mom came for a visit and brought colored pasta and clay for the children to work with; it was a big hit! The Goldfish school came to talk swim safety and Tuesday we walked around the block, so fun! Swimming started off great and the children enjoyed the water! The children have also enjoyed sharing picture of their dad’s and talking about what they like to do with dad!
