β¨ π§±This Week in Our Classroom: LEGO! π§±β¨
This week, our little builders explored the exciting world of LEGO through hands-on learning, creative play, movement, and discovery! We learned about building, problem-solving, colors, patterns, tools, and the important work happening all around us. ποΈπ
π£οΈ Language Development
π We enjoyed a LEGO Basket Story, combining people, LEGO bricks, and board books to encourage pretend storytelling and communication. Children also matched colorful word cards to the corresponding colored LEGO bricks and explored crayons and paper. π§±π
π§ Cognitive Development
πΊ We built towers of different heights, sorted LEGO bricks by color, tested LEGO bricks in water, and observed the shadows created by our block towers. These activities encouraged problem-solving, early math skills, sorting, predicting, and exploring cause and effect! π‘
π Motor Development
πͺ Our little builders strengthened their fine- and gross-motor skills by connecting and pulling apart LEGO bricks, building and knocking down towers, and completing a fun construction-themed obstacle course! π§±β‘οΈπ
π Social & Emotional Development
π€ During Pass the LEGO, children practiced taking turns, sharing materials, and participating as part of a group by passing a LEGO block from friend to friend. β€οΈ
π¨ Art
ποΈ We got creative by dipping LEGO blocks into paint to make prints, painting with paint sticks, and gluing colorful paper pieces to create our own artwork! ππ¨
π𧩠Looking Ahead to Tomorrow! π§©π
Tomorrow, our little learners will continue building their knowledge through hands-on activities focused on communication, problem-solving, movement, culture, and creativity! πβ¨
π£οΈ Language Development: Connect blocks with letters on them and explore early letter recognition. π€π§±
π§ Cognitive Development: Use blocks to create simple patterns and practice noticing what comes next. π΄π‘π΄π‘
π Motor Development: Stack and build with giant blocks to strengthen coordination and balance. π§±πͺ
π Social Studies: Discover Denmark, the country where LEGO was created, and look at pictures to learn about another place in the world! π
π¨ Art: Get messy and creative with finger painting! ποΈπ¨
What a busy week of building, exploring, creating, communicating, and learning! We loved watching our little construction crew use their imaginations, work together, solve problems, and discover the world around them! π§π§±ππ·β¨
Great things are being built in our classroomβnot just towers, but skills, confidence, friendships, and a love of learning! β€οΈπ§ ποΈ
