We introduced the theme with a large banner on the group time wall. The banner has pictures of children with various hair color, eye color and skin color. We talked about everyone having different eye color, hair color, skin color and height, but we are all the same. We talked about being kind to one another, we named family members and pets,

Fine Motor
The children worked very hard to manipulate and problem solve while working with various materials allowing them to figure things out, and strengthen their fine motor skills. Mr. Potato heads to put together and work fingers , connecting rainbow people by sliding their arm and leg pieces together, peeling various size tape off the table to build finger grasp, scissors with shape holders to practice holding the shape with one hand and manipulate with the other hands, make a face-sticker peeling and putting pieces together on the grid.
Math
The children worked with various materials to practice early math, theme related and and general activities to begin to recognize numbers, count , and use fingers All about me colored counters with matching cups, color heart matching with colored grid boards, counting and connecting bears. These activities allow young children to begin to count aloud, count one-to one, group count and begin to recognize numbers.
Sensory Table
Colored Water all week, small colored people counters and plastic containers for pouring
