We introduced the theme with New Fall songs, pictures, print and a Fall jumbo banner. We talked about apples, corn , pumpkin patch and apple farms.
Art
Monday- Corn on the cob- glued corn husk and cheerios
Tuesday- Fall wreath- glued colorful silk leaves onto a paper plate
Wednesday- Fall Tree- Cork stamping with red, green and orange paint on white paper
Thursday- Leaf cookie cutter stamping with fall color paint on colored paper
Friday- Acorns- Glued brown paper squares on acorn shape
Math
The children explored with various materials representing early math, counting small apple counters one by one, leaf color matching and organizing by colors, acorn counter counting with small jars with lids, coin counting with piggy banks and jumbo coins_penny, quarter and dime) apple seed counting with apple grid boards.
Motor Development
We practice and build fine motor with various activities that will allow and provide the children to strengthen their fine motor skills. Play-dough with wooden leaves to press down and make impressions, leaf lacing animal plates with pipe cleaners for a sturdy grip,stringing noodles with straws and Fall peel and stick- make your own face.
Sensory Table
Leaf colored pasta, pumpkin pasta, fall counters, silky leaves, measuring scoops and plastic cups
Activities
Explored a squash- cut it opened, cooked it and tasted it
Music & Movement- All the leaves are falling down, way up high in the Apple tree
Pin the leaves on the tree and name the leaves- Maple, Birch and oak
