It is Superhero week and we have had a lot of fun with activities involving the babies “superheroes”. They have watched career puppets talk about important jobs that they have as well as reading lots of books about our caregivers and those special people that take care of them each and every day. Fine motor activities have included stacking rings, tossing and rolling balls, puzzles and moving small stampers up and down on paper. We have sang songs that have included a lot of movement while we imitate it for them. We are working on recognizing friends and simple body parts using songs. We have enjoyed the warm weather by playing outside and practicing our gross motor skills that are developing daily while interacting with some of our older friends that are also outside. They had a chance to try to crumble paper (without eating it) and to take glitter balls in and out of a muffin tin. Our younger babies enjoyed peek-a-boo, watching ribbons while trying to hold them and tummy time on our music mats. It has been such a busy week as our older children are transitioning up to the next room and adjusting to a new routine and classroom. Next week will be all about under the sea and we start swimming for the first time!
