Let’s go down to the farm! That’s right, this week was all about the farm. We started the week by discussing the type of animals that we see at the farm and different types of food that can be grown at the farm. The children said that there are chickens, donkeys, cows, pigs, dogs and cats just to name a few. The children said that farmers can grow apples, watermelon, pumpkins, corn and carrots. We had some good discussions and even talked to our friend Cook who’s grandparents have a farm. He mentioned that his farm chore is to give the horses water when he is there! The children worked on a farm puzzle at science this week, worked on letter recognition activities by feeding the cow and a pigs in the mud ABC letter match game. At the math table, the children worked on number recognition by recognizing the number on the barn and adding that many animals to it. The children also played a fun going to the farm path game. We had an interesting last couple days as well. We had H20 spend time with half the class, went to Kaufmann Park on Tuesday, spend some time indoors on Wednesday and had Mud Day today! Let’s just say that some of our friends rather play in the water than the mud! The children also took a virtual field trip with Blippi on a farm and saw all the amazing things that they have! We hope that the children enjoyed their week even though it was a little out of the ordinary. We hope that you all have a wonderful and safe weekend!
