Let’s be friends! This week was all about friends! What makes a kind friend…? Well, just ask pre-k who came up with a list during group this week. Our friends said that a kind friend is someone who helps you up when you fall, checks to make sure you are okay, and asks if you would like to play just to name a few.  Also this week, we worked on number and letter recognition, writing skills, and of course building with different manipulatives. The children drew pictures of them with their friends and even made some friendship bracelets. We had a fun field trip to Malley’s and the children ate some ice cream…one of our favorite field trips! We will end our field trips by spending time with the summer school age at Lakewood Park on Thursday. This week is also the week that we are saying not goodbye but see you later to our friends who are moving on to kindergarten. With that in mind, we have been working on introducing ourselves to our new classmates when we get to kindergarten such as saying, “Hi, my name is Miss Chasity, what’s your name? Would you like to play with me?”  We also have been discussing our feelings about starting kindergarten and let them know it is okay to feel all the emotions at once! We know that all of our friends are going to do great things and we can’t wait to hear how much they grow!

Remember….it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later! You know where to find us!!
