This week’s theme was dinosaurs. In language this week, we read various books about dinosaurs, colored on a “D” cutout, “drew” our own dinosaurs, manipulated foam letters, and  colored dinosaur cutouts. In cognitive development this week, we sorted dinosaur eggs by color, counted dinosaur eggs, hatched a dinosaur egg, and attached different colored clothespins onto colored dinosaurs. In motor development this week, we filled plastic eggs with baby dinosaurs, saved the dinosaur by removing them from their tape attached to baking pans, placed cotton swabs on dinosaur cutouts, placed stickers on a poster board and hunted for dinosaur eggs. In art this week, we painted paper plates, painted dinosaurs, glued dinosaurs onto paper and painted a giant dinosaur cutout together. In social and emotional development this week, we played If You’re Happy and You Know It, and practice different sign language signs. We also added dinosaurs in our sensory bin and brought in snow from outside and explored with it. Tomorrow we will use dinosaurs to outline our names in language development, match different dinosaur cutouts in cognitive development, have a dinosaur dance party and do dinosaur puzzles in motor development, and use dinosaurs to paint in art.
