This week’s theme was winter. In language development this week, we manipulated magnet letter, pointed to pictures on our winter vocab board, colored with crayons on paper, stamped letters on paper, and read various winter themed books. In cognitive development this week, we compared bowls of hot water and cold water, matched different colored mittens, placed pom-poms on snowmen buttons, and sorted different sized ice cubes. In motor development this week, we strung beads on string, made snow angels in shredded paper, manipulated nuts and bolts, and built with waffle blocks. In art this week, we painted with Q-tips, painted with sponges, painted with pom-poms, and painted with paintbrushes. In social and emotional development this week, we played Ring Around the Rosie, and practiced taking off our shoes for winter dressing. Tomorrow we will play Snowman Says to practice following directions in language development, count goldfish as we feed our snowman in cognitive development, use tongs to move cotton balls into bowls for motor development, and marble paint snowflakes in art.
