This week’s theme was spring. In language development, we looked at spring pictures, wrote on chalkboards with chalk, wrote on magnetic writing boards, and colored on umbrellas with crayons. In cognitive development, we placed rainbow gears on a caterpillar, manipulated insect counters, placed shapes on pegs, and placed ladybugs on spotted paper. In motor development, we placed pompoms in cups, pushed flowers into colanders, played with balloons, placed shape shells on snails, and made bug prints with play-doh. In art this week, we started on making our paper Mache umbrellas, made toilet paper roll butterflies, and painted with spring colors. In social and emotional development, we practiced different breathing techniques, and explored our characteristics in a mirror. In social studies, we did some spring cleaning in the classroom. Tomorrow, we will write on clipboards with pencils in language development, place spots on ladybugs in cognitive development, build with soft Lego in motor development, and paint with flowers in art. We will also cast our vote for the book playoff this week.
