It’s spring in the center and we have had a lot of fun with activities that involved a lot of colors and the promise of warm weather. They have been playing with ducks of varying colors and sizes, usually accompanied by the song Five Little Ducks. They watched bubbles and watched the parachute move around them and above them. They manipulated shaving cream baggies with food coloring in them and then as they watched, those colors mixed together and made other colors, that was really exciting! Their fine motor skills were used to drop sticks into coffee cans and then used in art activities to color and paint. They practiced scooping plastic Easter eggs in a bin and worked plastic flower stems into the holes of a colander. They stuck paper flowers to contact paper that was at their level and have listened to books all week about the animals that we will see soon and the flowers that will be blooming. The youngest in the room are continuing to work on newly developing motor and communication skills while they enjoy watching their older friends explore and discover. The season brings a lot of promise and the babies have been experiencing it in so many different forms. Next week should be fun as we learn all about the Easter holiday and the special bunny that accompanies it!
