Preschoolers love bugs and insects! Monday in art the children glued black spots to red paper, in math they matched numbered spots to a ladybug and in language the children worked with letter and shape stencils. Tuesday in art the children painted with foam brushes and in math they made a prediction of how many bugs were in a jar. In language the children dictated what bugs bug them. Wednesday in art the children glued colorful tissue paper to butterflies and in math the children matched the corresponding number of insects to the number on an insect jar. In language the children engaged in a butterfly letter match activity. Today in art the children explored creating fork prints on paper, and it was also artsy Thursday and they did some splatter painting on a canvas outside. In math the children matched number bees to flowers, and numbered leaves and in language the children practiced writing letters on chalkboards. Tomorrow in art the children will glue together a caterpillar and in math thy will engage in a bugs and insects concentration game. In language the children will name some insects and bugs they know and practice writing or tracing the name. In the sensory table this week the children explored small bees and beehives and in science the children explored various bugs, bug pictures and bug books.
