This week’s theme was camping. In language development this week, we read various books and went over camping words and pictures, we colored on paper with crayons, we used dry erase markers and boards, and we wrote on boogie boards. In cognitive development this week, we counted rocks, made rock sculptures, sorted marshmallows, and engaged with puzzles. In motor development this week, we stacked wooden tiles, manipulated a wooden block set, made prints in play-doh and threaded gears onto pipe cleaners. In social and emotional development this week, we sang campfire songs and did breathing exercises. In social studies this week, we pretended to go on a camping trip and named our family members that would go with us. In art this week, we painted rocks, painted with glow in the dark paint, glued tissue paper onto logs to make a campfire, and painted with balloons. Tomorrow, we will color with colored pencils in language development, match and manipulate rainbow caterpillar gears in cognitive development, place stickers on a poster board in motor development, and have music with Miss Mel.
